Trail Therapy
How does Trail therapy work:
Trail therapy is a lot like traditional psychotherapy, the main difference is that we take our session outside into the healing environment of nature. We can walk, hike, sit, play in the sand, run or engage in other active mindfulness based activities while processing your experiences. You will set the pace, we just need to be able to hold a conversation. We have a chance to reconnect on a deeper level with nature and to ourselves, free from judgement and criticism.
Time and place:
Sessions are 53 minutes and we have a few specific locations in Sheboygan County where we can meet. I am happy to discuss which will best meet your needs.
What about the weather:
Outdoor sessions are available all year long, even in Wisconsin’s wild climate. We just need to make sure we are dressed properly! Wear clothes and shoes that are comfortable and appropriate for the weather and terrain.
It is also possible, due to extreme weather, that we may have to reschedule, change to virtual sessions or move inside. We will be in contact, should that happen.
We can also combine telehealth and trail sessions. Giving outdoor therapy a try does not mean that you have to commit to it exclusively. It does not always work to go outside due to weather, life circumstances, travel, just preferring telehealth, etc. You are in charge of your own treatment.
